High Summer, Slow Living, a Way of Life

Home and Garden
Well, summer is the time of the year when even the most active people slow down their activities. I like to get out my gazebo and chill out in my garden. If at all possible many even decide to play hooky by escaping their usual surroundings altogether. Vacations on a beach or in the mountains provide a change from the usual with the added benefit of refreshing splashes in the water or cooler temperatures at higher altitudes. Even while staying at home, kids – or at least the vast majority of them – enjoy the fact that summer is one of the periods when schools are closed. Many laze around in their backyard while the more enterprising one’s might try to set up a little business selling homemade lemonade at the curb of the street. Subdued as it is in the heat of the day, life springs up a notch or two in the evening. Dads knock around a football with their sons, teenagers round up a few friends to go to an outdoor cinema and the smell of grill cooking fills the nostrils of the joggers and walkers heading home from their evening workout.
